About artist:
Pierre Eugène Duteurtre (1911-1989): Born in Deuil-la-Barre, he is best known under the pseudonym DUT in his adult life. His career began in the 1930s as a comic book artist but in 1968 he left comics to devote himself fully to painting. He moved to Paris in Picasso's studio at 49 rue de Grenelle and devoted a lot of time to painting. He exhibited in Paris, in the Province, and abroad in the United States and in Japan in 1970. He also received the French Officer's Cross of Merit and Dedication.
