Original Oil Painting by much sought after (see below) and frequently exhibited American artist Hobart Jacobs (1851-1935). Stunning Impressionist style oil depicts bucolic landscape circa late 1800's. Wonderfully executed painting shows great movement and wonderful subtle color palate. Painting signed at lower left. Comes professionally framed. Much sought after artist with both high gallery and auction prices.

A painter of impressionist landscapes, Hobart Jacobs studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and in Florence, Italy. He had a long career as art supervisor of the Greenwich Public Schools, and upon retirement in the 1920s, moved to Palo Alto, California where he exhibited his paintings with the Palo Alto Art Club. In 1924, after the death of his wife, he returned to Greenwich, CT.
