Authentic Pre-Columbian Polychrome Female Cuchimilco / Stargazer Artifact from the Central Coast of Peru. This vessel from the Chancay Culture dates from the Intermediate Period circa 800-1200 CE (AD). Charming figure in overall cream with hues of black and russet. Female figure displays a huge head with ovoid eyes, an up-turned nose, and full, gently parted lips, all adorned in face paint and flanked by a pair of round ears. Her thick body is dressed in a short tunic over her petite breasts, while her lower half remains bare, exposing her delineated genitalia and her head is capped by a hemispherical headdress with 3 perforations and a zigzag-motif headband. Size: 6.1" W x 8.7" H (15.5 cm x 22.1 cm) Unique authentic artifact from ancient Peru.

Condition: Loss of middle finger on proper right hand and to small area on right elbow. Expected nicks and abrasions in some areas. Otherwise, excellent with nice remaining pigments.

Comes with both Certificate of Authenticity from well respected Gallery that deals in Antiquities. Further: ex-private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010
