Authentic Pre-Columbian Moche Culture silver tupa (pin) with parrot finial circa 100-700 AD. This very special artifact measures 3.05 inches in height (3.75" H on included custom stand. silver is 92%; weight is 3.6 g. The tupa pin was to pin garment closed. This is an exquisite example of Andean metal work, these pins are mostly found in silver. The parrot was held in high esteem by the Ancient Mochica (Moche) tribe because of its beautiful plumage.
