Authentic Pre-Columbian Michoacan Pottery Pretty Lady From ancient western Mexico Preclassic period circa 400-100 BC. A rare, absolutely stunning standing clay Chupicuaro "pretty lady," She is adorned with a necklace, large ear spools, headdress and a pouched stomach. She is roughly 3 1/16" inches tall. These pieces are said to represent fertility, not necessarily human fertility but also earth fertility. Beautiful piece with 1 old repair to leg (see pics). Piece shows all the correct patina, weight for age including manganese deposits.
