Authentic Pre-Colombian Anthropomorphic Rattle from Nicoya Culture, Costa Rica, Atlantic Watershed, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. This artifact dates from the Late-Classic Period is in an overall cream color. Ritualistic rattle (makes lovely sound) depicts giant tortoise with small monkey on back. Very unique piece from Central Highlands of Costa Rica. Excellent condition with no repairs, cracks or breaks-Beautiful patina with areas of earthen and mineral deposits (manganese) throughout. Free domestic shipping!
